Deco Eatery - Lopdell House Titirangi
Spanish Mission Architecture influenced the Deco eatery design - Internal arches and a white colour scheme provided the perfect backdrop for the feature elements paying homage to the Spanish Mission style. The colours of the eatery also reflect the Mediterranean feel the client was after – predominantly blues & whites.

The physical public spaces were divided into four key areas that are open to each other but can also be sectioned off to allow for greater flexibility with numbers or events.
There is a quiet gallery area with extensive views, the main central part of the eatery with views into the kitchen activity, a bar area with high tables and more of a café feel area on the street frontage that can also be sectioned off for events if the occasion arises.

The real strength of this eatery is in the design and layout allowing for multiple use of the space. By adding internal shutters and designing the layout to create four distinct zones we have been able to take one eatery and provide something for everyone depending on what meal or refreshment they are after, what time of day it is, whether they want sun or shade, to be surrounded by activity or enjoy a more quiet contemplative space – this is a true hospitality hotspot.

Careful consideration was required during the selection of all Deco finishes and fixings to ensure the new fitout was in harmony with the existing building and its heritage. Finishes and fittings included: Encaustic tiles, hexagon wall tiles, White Oak, Carrera Marble and Brass.

With a floor area of 295m2 and a budget of $700k careful attention was required to all finishes and fixtures.
